A 23-year-old Wisconsin woman faces legal charges after allegedly posing as a substitute teacher at a Milwaukee high school on September 24, according to a criminal complaint detailed in reporting by Hollywood Unlocked. Authorities identified the suspect as Amy L. Jones, a former student at Rufus King International High School. According to court records cited by Hollywood Unlocked, Jones allegedly entered the building alongside students during morning arrival. She then proceeded to the main administrative office, where she reportedly overheard staff members discussing the third-party staffing agency responsible for supplying substitute teachers to the campus.

The criminal complaint indicates that Jones told an office staff member she worked for that specific agency. School records showed eight teachers were absent that morning with only seven official substitute positions filled. Because of the open slot, school personnel placed Jones on the sign-in sheet for the remaining vacancy. A certified teacher assisted her in opening the assigned classroom and remained present for roughly twenty minutes before exiting the room.

Once left alone in the classroom, prosecutors allege Jones abandoned the standard lesson plan. According to student statements cited by Hollywood Unlocked, she began using profanity, racial slurs, and sexually explicit comments. Students reported that she instructed the class to separate by race and gender, played loud rap music, and inquired whether any students possessed marijuana or vaping devices. Students also stated that she mocked several pupils regarding their physical appearance, weight, and financial status.

Following the incident, students reported the behavior to school administrators. When law enforcement officers subsequently questioned Jones, she reportedly stated that she acted out of boredom and claimed that she does not like children. Court documents noted she expressed a desire for notoriety and indicated she was unconcerned about potential jail time. Law enforcement officers took Jones into custody five days after the incident at a mental health hospital in West Allis, Wisconsin.

FOX6 reported that Jones has a documented history of mental illness, as noted in the Hollywood Unlocked report. Jones now faces a count of impersonating a public employee alongside multiple counts of exposing a child to harmful descriptions. During court proceedings, Court Commissioner Rosa Barillas established a $5,000 signature bond for Jones. As part of the release conditions, the court ordered Jones to stay away from Rufus King International High School and the students named in the criminal complaint. All allegations remain unproven in court, as Jones has not been convicted of any crime.
