Tyler Perry Acquires $30 Million Puerto Rico Estate Ahead of Planned Island Relocation
Entertainment mogul Tyler Perry has acquired a $30 million estate in Puerto Rico ahead of an anticipated move scheduled for early 2027. The 14,475-square-foot residence features luxury amenities and will serve as a home base as Perry pulls back from his intense schedule to spend more time with his son, Aman.

Entertainment titan Tyler Perry has purchased a $30 million luxury estate in Puerto Rico as part of his strategy to scale back his day-to-day schedule and spend more quality time with his family, according to reporting from TMZ that was subsequently confirmed by PEOPLE. The newly acquired property marks a major personal milestone for the 57-year-old creator, who intends to relocate to the island at the beginning of 2027.
The sprawling 14,475-square-foot residence sits across nearly 1.4 acres inside an exclusive gated community. Constructed in 2021, the estate offers extensive residential and work amenities, including five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a fully equipped private movie theater, a fitness gym, an open-concept kitchen, and a swimming pool, Baller Alert reported.
Perry publicly signaled his transition during an appearance on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle in September. When asked by television personality Justin Sylvester whether he planned to slow his famously relentless work pace, Perry offered a direct answer. He stated, “Yep, moving to Puerto Rico at the top of the year, and I’m pulling back a whole lot.” The move is intentionally structured around family life, giving Perry dedicated space to focus on his son, Aman.
While the filmmaker is intentionally stepping back from his routine operations, he is not retiring from creative development. Sources told TMZ that Perry intends to establish a production office in Puerto Rico, creating opportunities to film future film and television projects directly on the island.
The move does not compromise Perry’s historic presence in Georgia. Tyler Perry Studios continues to operate on its massive 330-acre campus situated on a former military base in Atlanta, alongside Perry's nearby personal residence. His global real estate footprint also includes a private island retreat in the Bahamas and a property in Jackson, Wyoming, which was placed on the market in June for $39.5 million.
With this purchase, Perry joins a growing list of high-profile entertainment figures establishing residences in Puerto Rico, where personalities such as Logan Paul and Jake Paul have also set up homes. For Perry, the Puerto Rico residence represents a deliberate balance between preserving the expansive entertainment enterprise he created and carving out vital personal time with his young son.
