Treach Partners with Boxing Promotion Following Daughter Egypt Criss’s Ring Debut Knockout
After his daughter Egypt Criss suffered a knockout loss in an exhibition boxing match earlier this year, Naughty By Nature icon Treach turned a check-in phone call into a fight business venture. The rapper revealed on Drink Champs that he is now involved with celebrity and open-hand combat cards, with an upcoming appearance scheduled for November in Pennsylvania.

Hip-hop legend and Naughty By Nature member Treach has stepped into the combat sports arena following a difficult family moment in the ring. According to reporting from AllHipHop, the veteran rapper recently detailed on the Drink Champs podcast how a post-fight check-in concerning his daughter, Egypt Criss, evolved into an active partnership in the boxing and combat promotion business.
The sequence of events began in March, when Criss entered the ring for an exhibition boxing debut in England against two-time Olympic taekwondo gold medalist Jade Jones. The bout, which MMA Fighting documented as an exhibition and Jones's boxing debut, ended in the second round when Jones knocked Criss out. At the time, Treach expressed public frustration and placed blame on the individuals handling his daughter's career. Criss subsequently responded publicly to clarify that she made her own professional decisions, maintained confidence in her team, and planned to keep pursuing boxing.
According to Treach's statements on Drink Champs, which released an episode on October 16, he had no personal role in organizing the March matchup in England. However, the aftermath brought an unexpected business opportunity. Treach explained that longtime acquaintance and fight promoter Damon Feldman reached out by phone to check on Criss's well-being following the stoppage.
Feldman had previously attempted to recruit the New Jersey rapper into celebrity boxing initiatives over the years. That supportive phone call quickly shifted into forward-looking discussions about working together across different combat formats. Treach noted that their conversations expanded from traditional celebrity bouts into open-hand combat under the Smack Fighting Championships banner.
Their business relationship had previously surfaced in public view. AllHipHop noted that Treach and Feldman appeared alongside each other on a FOX 29 segment in May to discuss celebrity boxing endeavors, following Feldman's earlier remarks to AllHipHop in February regarding his promotional plans.
During his Drink Champs appearance, Treach outlined his appreciation for the technical elements of the Smack format, explaining that participants are allowed to move and defend by blocking incoming strikes. He characterized the bouts as structured contests featuring three one-minute rounds, distinguishing the format from static slap-trading exhibitions. Treach also voiced a broader philosophy for the venture, stating that his ideal matchup involves individuals bringing street animosity into a sanctioned ring to resolve disputes safely and leave conflict behind.
The collaborative venture moves to Pennsylvania next. Treach is listed as a featured special guest for an upcoming Smack event on November 20 at Harrah’s Philadelphia, located in Chester, Pennsylvania. Promoted for a 7 p.m. start, the event poster highlights television personalities Justina Valentine and Chrisean Rock as hosts. The organization previously held a card in September featuring Kimbo Slice Jr. and Crip Mac on TrillerTV, blending open-hand fights with traditional boxing. Official event sale listings caution that fight cards and scheduled guest appearances remain subject to change.
