Houston artist Tobe Nwigwe and his wife and collaborator Fat Nwigwe recently shared an unusual studio story featuring enigmatic hip-hop veteran Jay Electronica. Speaking in an interview with Angela Yee, as reported by AllHipHop, the couple detailed the creative process behind their collaboration on Nwigwe's new project, The Bridge. According to AllHipHop's report, Jay Electronica arrived at the Houston recording session accompanied by two massive Great Danes, which Nwigwe described as being as large as horses.

As reported by AllHipHop, the recording session involved frequent pauses, with Jay Electronica stepping outside roughly every 15 minutes to walk his dogs while piecing together his verse. Despite the unconventional setup, Nwigwe emphasized his immense respect for the veteran lyricist, explaining that the studio visit was marked by sincerity and passion. Fat Nwigwe recalled watching Jay Electronica craft his entire verse directly in the vocal booth without writing down a single line on paper.

Nwigwe praised Jay Electronica during the interview, stating that he has never heard a verse from him that was not great and placing him among the top five rappers dead or alive, according to the report by AllHipHop. Nwigwe also expressed deep gratitude that Jay Electronica chose to travel directly to Houston for the recording session, taking the gesture as clear evidence of mutual love and respect for their artistic vision.

The collaboration, titled ALLAHUAKBARS, is one of 12 tracks featured on Nwigwe's album The Bridge, which released on October 9. The project is credited to Tobe Nwigwe LLC with exclusive distribution handled by Human Re Sources. According to AllHipHop, the album serves as a musical connection between Nwigwe's Houston upbringing and his Nigerian heritage, featuring a wide array of guest contributors. Alongside Jay Electronica, The Bridge features appearances by Busta Rhymes on the opening track CHINEKE, Paul Wall on TOPS DROP '26, and Nigerian group The Cavemen across three separate tracks, including CHOP.

Additional guest artists across the tracklist include Labrinth on ALL OR NOTHING, Flavour and C.S. Armstrong on PERFECTION, K CAMP with Adekunle Gold on ULTRASOUND, Scarface with ODUMODUBLVCK and Hanumankind on PEACE AND PROBLEMS, Malice with Jacob Banks on HEAVEN KNOWS ME WELL, and Fat alongside Sia on DISGUISE. Jay Electronica's appearance on the project comes six years after his 2020 official debut album, A Written Testimony, which featured heavy contributions from Jay-Z.

AllHipHop noted that Jay Electronica's catalog has historically moved on its own timeline, pointing to his project Act II: The Patents of Nobility (The Turn), which officially hit major streaming services in September 2025 years after its initial 2020 leak.
