NIL at HBCUs has evolved from a curiosity into a full economy in just a few short years. Athletes at Jackson State, Howard, FAMU, and North Carolina A&T are signing real deals with national brands — and HBCU-led collectives are starting to scale.
What's next is the harder, more important work: building infrastructure that supports HBCU athletes for the long term. That means financial literacy programs, tax and legal resources, brand-building education, and the kind of agent and management support Power Five athletes have had access to for years.
