Spelman College undergraduate Adria Weaver is building a foundation in economic study, corporate finance, and campus leadership as she pursues her long-term academic and professional goals, according to a profile published by UNCF. Weaver, an economics major with a minor in mathematics, is set to graduate in May 2028 from the United Negro College Fund member institution.

According to UNCF reporting, Weaver selected Spelman College because of "the opportunity to be supported in my journey to becoming the woman I want to become." She explained that while any higher education institution could provide the necessary coursework to prepare her to become a scholar or an employee, Spelman pushed her to think more comprehensively about her personal identity, leadership potential, and connection to the institution's tradition of graduating accomplished Black women.

Prior to enrolling at Spelman, Weaver demonstrated a commitment to service by founding a community service and mentorship organization in her hometown, which UNCF noted remains active today. That commitment to leadership and community development has continued throughout her undergraduate career at the historic women's college.

Currently, Weaver is active in several high-profile campus organizations and professional endeavors. According to UNCF, she serves as a charter executive board member for the Spelman College chapter of Woman on Wall Street and is stepping into the position of chief operations officer for the group. She is also a member of the Spelman chapter of Collegiate 100, a campus initiative affiliated with 100 Black Men of America. In addition to her studies and executive board service, Weaver is gaining practical financial sector experience as an investment banking intern.

Weaver's pursuit of her degree has been made possible through financial aid and scholarship assistance, including the Alt Finance Scholarship administered by UNCF. UNCF reported that Weaver credited the award with bridging financial hurdles, noting, "As a student who relies heavily on scholarships to make my matriculation possible, my UNCF scholarship helps fill the gaps." Weaver added, "Spelman once seemed financially impossible, but with hard work, determination and faith, I was able to make it work."

Following her expected graduation in May 2028, Weaver plans to continue her education by earning a master's degree in either finance or human resources, according to UNCF. Her long-range goals involve gaining experience in the corporate sector, completing a Ph.D. in economics, establishing a financial literacy nonprofit organization, and eventually serving as a university president, as reported by UNCF.
