Big Brother Naija alumna Tsakute Ladi Jonah, publicly known as Saskay, is celebrating a major academic milestone after earning her Master of Arts in Global Security and Strategy from the VUB Brussels School of Governance. The reality television star recently commemorated the completion of her graduate studies through a personalized portrait session that highlighted her achievement while championing African creative identity, according to reporting by BellaNaija.

Jonah expressed deep fulfillment regarding her area of study, describing how meaningful the rigorous program was to her personal and intellectual growth. According to BellaNaija, Saskay reflected directly on the accomplishment: "Master of Arts (MA) in Global Security and Strategy. I got to study something I’ve always been passionate about, and that makes this degree mean so much more to me. I’ve poured so much of myself into this journey that my diploma is basically my baby."

While celebratory academic photo sessions frequently feature Western-style formalwear, Jonah deliberately embraced a look rooted in African heritage. According to reporting by BellaNaija, the aesthetic direction came about after her original styling plans fell through. Jonah had originally arranged to wear a tailored Western suit for the shoot, but her designer faced an unexpected emergency and was unable to complete the garment in time.

Rather than scrambling for an ordinary replacement, the sudden disruption prompted Jonah to reconsider how society perceives academic accomplishment and formal presentation. Speaking to that shift, Saskay explained: "I had a suit planned for this shoot, but my designer had an emergency and couldn’t get it ready in time. Things took a different turn, and it got me thinking about how we’ve come to associate education with western clothing. There’s something beautiful about celebrating an academic milestone in a way that also reflects who we are and where we come from."

For the finished portraits, Jonah wore the Nola Kaftan created by the fashion house Hertunba, as detailed by BellaNaija. The 100-percent cotton ensemble featured fluid sleeves, an open drape, and a generous silhouette presented in soft off-white and cream tones, accented by a chocolate brown silk veil. According to BellaNaija, the garment is patterned with illustrations of palm trees, birds, and dwellings that visually convey an allegorical narrative of a young girl navigating a vast village.

Jonah complemented the designer garment with traditional-inspired African facial art, sporting a geometric triangle on her forehead, a delicate horizontal line across the bridge of her nose, and a vertical stripe extending from her lower lip down to her chin. The look was accessorized with oversized leaf-shaped gold drop earrings, wide bangles, thick gold cuffs, statement rings, and a layered beaded gold necklace. In several of the captured portraits, she posed with her official leather VUB Brussels School of Governance degree case alongside arrangements of books, firmly merging her intellectual triumph with ancestral culture.
