Rihanna Hints at Vault of 170 Unreleased Songs During Fenty Beauty Livestream
During a recent Fenty Beauty livestream on TikTok Shop, Rihanna revealed that her archive of unreleased music could include 170 tracks or more. The music and beauty mogul made the comparison using Fenty Beauty's Gloss Bomb Vault while talking with business partner Jennifer Rosales. While fans remain eager for her ninth studio album, no official release date or tracklist has been announced.

Music and beauty mogul Rihanna offered fans a rare perspective on her unreleased music catalog during a Fenty Beauty TikTok Shop livestream, according to reporting by theGrio. During the broadcast, the global star indicated that her vault of unrecorded or unreleased material could contain 170 tracks or more.
The topic arose when Rihanna's longtime business partner, Jennifer Rosales, asked the artist how much unreleased music she currently has stored away. In response, Rihanna drew a direct comparison to Fenty Beauty’s Gloss Bomb Vault, a popular cosmetic collection containing 10 products. According to theGrio's account of the livestream, Rihanna stated that she holds "at least 17 vaults" of music in her possession.
Based on that math, 17 vaults containing 10 items each would indicate an archive of at least 170 songs. However, as noted by theGrio citing HOT 97, the singer did not provide a specific track count, clarify whether the songs are fully completed, or confirm whether any of these recordings will appear on her anticipated ninth studio project. Fans commonly refer to the unreleased album project as R9, although Rihanna has never officially designated that as the title.
It has been years since the release of her last full-length studio recording. Her previous album, ANTI, arrived in January 2016 and featured hits such as "Work," "Needed Me," and "Love on the Brain." The artist celebrated the 10th anniversary of ANTI this past January by sharing an Instagram montage depicting key moments from that era.
Since the launch of ANTI, Rihanna has stepped away from full album rollouts while occasionally sharing standalone singles. According to theGrio, she released "Lift Me Up" for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack in 2022, followed by "Friend of Mine" for the Smurfs project in 2025. Her high-profile 2023 Super Bowl halftime show performance also took place without an accompanying album announcement.
Recent updates from those close to the singer indicate that creative work remains underway. In August, musician Rocky informed interviewer Jason Lee that Rihanna was actively working in the studio, jokingly adding that he might get into trouble for sharing the detail. Additionally, in February, Rihanna posted a video from a recording studio following a late-night Savage X Fenty meeting. The video, though muted, captured her taking notes and operating a mixing board.
Discussing her musical process in a February 2025 interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna explained that she had settled on a sound that felt genuine after setting aside earlier concepts. In that conversation, she stated, "I cannot put up anything mediocre," while also putting to rest long-running fan speculation that her upcoming project would be a reggae album.
As reported by theGrio, Rihanna has yet to announce an official tracklist or release date for her next project, leaving listeners to wonder which of her reported 170 vaulted tracks will ultimately see the light of day.
