Actor and comedian Pete Davidson has publicly reflected on his past relationship with reality television personality Kim Kardashian, opening up about the intense public spotlight and the social media hostility he faced from music mogul Kanye West. In a newly published interview with Variety journalist Marlow Stern, as reported by Complex, the 32-year-old comedian looked back at the nine-month relationship with humor while addressing the serious personal challenges that accompanied it.

Speaking about the intense atmosphere surrounding Kardashian's public life, Davidson humorously described himself as a survivor of the experience, comparing her former partners to members of the armed forces. According to the interview, Davidson praised Kardashian and her family for being clear and transparent about their high-profile lifestyle. He described her approach as mature and noted that she respected his personal boundaries, emphasizing that he was never forced into situations he did not wish to participate in.

However, Davidson admitted that the overwhelming nature of that environment took a heavy toll on his personal well-being. According to the report, navigating constant security, public attention, and always needing to look over his shoulder proved difficult while he was concurrently dealing with mental health struggles and drug-

The romance originally sparked after Davidson and Kardashian shared an on-screen kiss during an October 2021 skit on Saturday Night Live, where they played Aladdin and Jasmine. By November 2021, sources confirmed the pair were officially dating, marking Kardashian's first high-profile romance following her divorce filing from West. The couple eventually decided to end their relationship in August 2022.

Throughout their time together, West targeted Davidson in a series of social media posts. According to reported details, West published since-deleted threats on Instagram and featured a Claymation depiction of Davidson being kidnapped and beheaded in the music video for his track "Eazy." Davidson noted in the interview that West's actions pushed him, particularly because Davidson has always been candid about his own mental health challenges.

Surprisingly, Davidson also expressed a level of empathy regarding West's public struggles and past controversial statements. Davidson explained that while he does not claim the influence or platform that West holds, he understands how intense public pressure, grief from losing a parent, and mental health struggles can lead an individual to lash out publicly when feeling pushed to a limit. Davidson previously experienced high-profile public attention during his engagement to pop singer Ariana Grande, which ended in 2018.
