Patrick Clancy has spoken publicly about grief, forgiveness and the future following the mistrial of his former wife, Lindsay Clancy, who was charged in the deaths of their three children.
In an interview broadcast Sunday on CBS News’ “60 Minutes,” Clancy remembered Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, and described living with the loss since their deaths in January 2023. He said he did the best he could with what he understood at the time about his then-wife’s mental health.
The murder trial ended Sept. 4 after jurors reported an 11-1 split. Lindsay Clancy’s defense argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible; prosecutors argued that she understood her actions.
Patrick Clancy also addressed unsupported conspiracy theories circulating online, saying they distract from his children’s legacy and the need for attention to perinatal mental health. His new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis, joined him for part of the interview, and the couple said they plan to start a family.
The case remains unresolved after the mistrial. Any future court proceedings will determine the next legal steps.
