North West is shedding light on her evolving creative repertoire, breaking down her approach to music production and reflecting on the artistry in her family's catalog during a recent sit-down on the YouTube show Well Well Well hosted by Emwell, according to reporting by Billboard.

The young artist, who is the daughter of Ye and Kim Kardashian, detailed her specific workflow when composing instrumentals. West shared that her method begins with extensive listening sessions before settling on an initial sonic direction. She explained that she often looks to existing records for inspiration, noting that working with a sample provides a smoother creative pathway than composing from an empty slate.

Addressing the technical gear behind her beats, West noted a shift in the equipment she operates. While she previously produced tracks utilizing an ASR, she stated that her current production environment relies strictly on the digital audio workstation Ableton, Billboard reported.

The discussion also turned to her collaborative experiences with her father. When shown a Billboard Hip-Hop post highlighting remarks in which Ye credited her with helping him rediscover his passion for making music, West recalled the rigorous creative environment surrounding those moments. She described taking part in daily studio sessions while in Japan that functioned as an intensive training camp.

During those international sessions, West recounted practicing rapid delivery styles under her father's guidance, noting that he challenged her to execute verses a cappella. While describing the exercise as difficult, she expressed sincere appreciation for the training, explaining that the challenging drills directly enhanced her skills as a performer.

The interview revisited her past homage to Ye's discography, specifically referencing Halloween 2023 when she wore a costume modeled after the bear mascot from his 2007 album Graduation. When asked to name her favorite selection from the LP, West identified the track "Homecoming" before reciting the chorus.

Beyond music composition and performance, West touched upon a wider set of individual hobbies and abilities. According to Billboard, she described learning wig-making techniques, demonstrating spontaneous drawing skills, and revealing that she can speak with her mouth completely closed.
