Ahead of tip-off for the 2026-27 NBA regular season, projected win totals have established early expectations for franchises across the league. According to lines released by Fanatics Sportsbook and reported by Complex, the numbers reveal sharp divides between title contenders and rebuilding rosters searching for traction.

Sitting atop the entire association is the Oklahoma City Thunder, carrying a projected win total of 60.5. Complex reported that the Thunder's over line opened at -200 odds, suggesting sportsbooks could bump the total higher prior to opening night. Under head coach Mark Daigneault, Oklahoma City secured 68 victories during the 2024-25 campaign and added 64 wins last year. Ahead of the new schedule, the franchise traded Luguentz Dort to the Atlanta Hawks to slip under the second apron financial threshold, while signing Cason Wallace to a contract extension to take on an expanded role.

Close behind Oklahoma City in projected dominance are the San Antonio Spurs, sitting with an over-under mark of 59.5 wins. The defending champion New York Knicks carry an over-under projection of 52.5 wins, with the over set at -105 and the under priced at -125. Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics enter the year lined at 51.5 wins.

The Philadelphia 76ers stand among the most discussed rosters entering the season, according to Complex. Featuring a high-profile lineup that includes LeBron James, Jaylen Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe, Philadelphia has drawn immense public attention. However, sportsbooks have pegged the Sixers with a modest win projection of 50.5. Complex noted that oddsmakers anticipate Philadelphia prioritizing preservation for the postseason rather than chasing regular-season win totals. Despite having a lower win total projection than Boston, the Sixers hold +900 championship odds compared to +1400 for the Celtics.

At the bottom of the league spectrum sit the Sacramento Kings, who carry an NBA-low projection of 20.5 wins. The team faces an immediate setback following a torn right Achilles tendon suffered by Ben Simmons. Sacramento did not bring back veteran figures DeMar DeRozan or Russell Westbrook, shifting reliance toward rookie guard Darius Acuff after finishing with a 22-60 record a year ago.

Several other franchises also face modest expectations with win totals in the 20s. Complex reported that the Brooklyn Nets hold a projection of 24.5 wins, while the Milwaukee Bucks sit at 26.5. Both the New Orleans Pelicans and the LA Clippers carry 27.5-win benchmarks, and the Chicago Bulls enter the campaign projected at 29.5 wins.
