NFL Network Analyst Michael Robinson Issues Apology to Jalen Hurts Over Blood Clot Speculation
NFL Network analyst Michael Robinson expressed deep regret after suggesting Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts exaggerated a serious blood clot diagnosis. Robinson issued a formal statement apologizing to Hurts, his family, and the franchise following widespread public backlash.

NFL Network commentator Michael Robinson has released a formal apology after facing intense public criticism for questioning the authenticity and severity of medical issues sidelined Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. Robinson previously suggested on air that Hurts might be exaggerating his blood clot condition to deflect accountability for the squad's on-field difficulties during the current campaign, according to reporting by Hollywood Unlocked.
Following the remarks, Robinson addressed the matter directly across his social channels, stating that there was no justification for his statements. In the caption accompanying his public statement, Robinson wrote, "My official apology to @JalenHurts @Eagles and the entire fanbase. My comments were wrong. No excuse."
In the formal letter shared publicly, Robinson expanded on his regrets regarding the commentary delivered during an earlier broadcast. "I want to sincerely apologize to Jalen Hurts, his family, the Philadelphia Eagles organization and fan base for my comments last Thursday," Robinson stated in the released message. "They were unfounded and I never should’ve speculated on a health issue of a player nor his commitment to his team."
The controversy surfaced during what has proven to be a demanding stretch for the Philadelphia franchise and its Pro Bowl signal-caller. Hurts, who has spent seven years with the Eagles and earned three Pro Bowl selections, had faced early-season offensive hurdles while working alongside new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion, Hollywood Unlocked reported.
The health timeline began when Hurts sustained a calf injury during an October 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Four days later, on October 8, the quarterback requested medical attention after practice. When the Eagles traveled across the Atlantic for a contest in the United Kingdom, Hurts underwent an ultrasound examination on October 10 in London, which confirmed the presence of a superficial blood clot in his calf.
Subsequent medical evaluations raised further alarm for the franchise and its medical staff. A follow-up ultrasound conducted on October 14 indicated that the clot had shifted, prompting the Eagles to remove Hurts from active competition immediately. By October 17, following multiple medical consultations, team officials placed Hurts on injured reserve, ruling him out indefinitely to allow him sufficient recovery time.
Hollywood Unlocked reported that the medical diagnosis worsened as the condition advanced, with the clot originally discovered in his calf traveling and developing into blood clots located in both of Hurts' lungs. Despite the critical nature of pulmonary blood clots, Robinson's speculative commentary aired around the time the injured reserve announcement was confirmed, sparking immediate condemnation from viewers and sports fans before Robinson ultimately conceded his error.
