Marvel Television has formally announced the development of a new live-action television series titled "Zodiac," scheduled for release in 2028, according to reporting by Deadline. The studio unveiled the project as a spy thriller during a panel presentation at New York Comic-Con on Thursday. The new series represents a significant addition to the studio's future broadcast slate as Marvel Television reorganizes its television offerings heading into the late 2020s.

According to Deadline, "Zodiac" will arrive at a time when Marvel Television’s live-action slate is entering a period of contraction and transition. Many of the studio’s existing and highly anticipated television titles have either reached their conclusions or are scheduled to conclude in the near future. The announcement of a 2028 spy thriller indicates a continuing effort by the studio to introduce fresh genres and storylines into its ongoing live-action television continuity.

Among the major projects nearing completion is the conclusion of the WandaVision trilogy, Deadline reported. That storyline is set to wrap up later this month with the premiere of VisionQuest. Headlined by actor Paul Bettany, VisionQuest takes place following the events established in WandaVision, where the character made his return after being killed by Thanos in the 2018 feature film Avengers: Infinity War.

As reported by Deadline, VisionQuest is expected to follow Bettany's character as he works to regain his memory and reclaim his humanity following his prior destruction and subsequent return. The series serves as one of the last remaining installments of the interconnected narrative arc that began with WandaVision, underscoring the broader shift taking place across Marvel's television programming.

The transition across Marvel's television lineup extends to other fan-favorite characters as well. According to reporting by Deadline, the series Daredevil: Born Again will complete its run with its third season next year. The production made headlines by reintroducing several prominent Marvel Cinematic Universe figures to audiences, including Charlie Cox returning as Matt Murdock and Krysten Ritter reprising her role as Jessica Jones.

The reveal of "Zodiac" also comes following recent decisions by the studio to pare down its ongoing projects. Deadline noted that Marvel Television recently opted against proceeding with a second season of Wonder Man. With existing series concluding and former projects being pared back, the newly announced 2028 spy thriller "Zodiac" marks one of the few new live-action television series officially slated for Marvel's long-term lineup.
