Mackayla “Kash” Paige, a 29-year-old reality television personality known for her roles on several independent streaming programs, died following an early morning shooting in downtown Oakland, California, according to media reports citing local authorities and network announcements.

Oakland police officers responded to reports of gunfire near 14th and Harrison streets around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, October 11, as initially reported by People and confirmed in coverage by Complex. Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers located Paige suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Responding officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene before paramedics transported Paige to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

According to statements from the Oakland Police Department, law enforcement officials have taken an unidentified woman into custody in connection with the case. However, authorities have not publicly released the suspect's identity, announced formal charges, or revealed the specific motives or circumstances that precipitated the fatal violence.

Initial reporting suggests the shooting occurred following a dispute outside a local venue. Video recorded near the Cave Lounge on 14th and Harrison streets showed a heavy police presence shortly after the incident. While Paige had posted updates to her Instagram Stories earlier that evening detailing a night out, investigators have not confirmed whether any footage circulating online captures the precise confrontation that led to her death.

Following news of her passing, Now That’s TV, the streaming platform that featured Paige on shows including Young & Reckless, Roommhates, and Now That’s Riot, issued an official statement mourning the cast member. The network described Paige as a beloved member of its organizational family, offering condolences to her relatives, friends, and co-stars while acknowledging her impact on their programming.

Family members have also expressed grief while highlighting Paige’s aspirations beyond reality television. In an interview with ABC7 Bay Area, Paige’s cousin, Azima King, shared the emotional toll the sudden loss has taken on their family, describing Paige as someone dedicated to pursuing personal growth and broad professional dreams.

The fatal shooting of Paige comes shortly after another violent incident involving individuals connected to the independent reality entertainment sector in the Bay Area. On October 3, Ulysses Tykee Davis, a 47-year-old security guard, was killed outside San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre following an event linked to the Zeus Network series Baddies USA.

The Oakland Police Department’s Homicide Section has requested that anyone with information, video footage, or details relevant to the ongoing investigation contact homicide detectives or submit tips through official department channels.
