Chicago entrepreneur, author, and business strategist LaTanya Orr has completed the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women: Black in Business program, an experience she stated has refined her enterprise growth strategies and strengthened her dedication to supporting women entrepreneurs, according to reporting by the Chicago Crusader. Orr completed her training as part of the Spring 2026 cohort for the national initiative, which provides education, tools, and business resources to Black women operating as sole proprietors.

The Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women initiative was developed as part of a broader commitment by the financial institution to invest in Black women and tackle systemic economic disparities. The Black in Business program focuses on practical business development, emphasizing key operational areas such as long-term strategic planning, financial stewardship, and sustainable scaling. According to the Chicago Crusader, Orr stated that the program challenged her existing business models while sharpening her perspective on building lasting enterprises.

"The program didn’t hand me a blueprint—it challenged me to rethink the one I already had," Orr said in a statement reported by the Chicago Crusader. "It strengthened my thinking around enterprise, stewardship, and long-term impact while reaffirming the work I’ve been called to do."

Orr’s participation in the program coincided with a period of operational transition for her primary business venture, The FoundHERS Suite. Designed as a collaborative workspace and community platform, The FoundHERS Suite provides women business owners with educational programming, professional connections, and shared commercial opportunities. However, an unexpected incident involving the facility where the Suite operated forced the temporary closure of its physical location earlier this year.

Instead of stopping her work, Orr used the temporary physical closure as a catalyst to evaluate how her organization could continue delivering resources to women founders while assessing the long-term future of the space. That process led to the development of BridgeWRX, an advisory and thought leadership platform created by Orr to help entrepreneurs move past basic brand building and focus on establishing sustainable business models through structured leadership and intentional growth strategies.

According to reporting by the Chicago Crusader, BridgeWRX is not designed to replace The FoundHERS Suite, but rather to function as an extension of its founding mission. The platform provides additional avenues for women entrepreneurs to access strategic information, build professional networks, and strengthen their internal operations while plans for the physical suite are finalized.

Following her graduation from the Goldman Sachs program, Orr has introduced several new initiatives under her advisory framework. These include ShiftShop, a workshop series focused on practical business growth, and Gather & Shift, an interactive networking initiative centered on collaboration and shared learning among founders. Orr is also developing written content, including her Substack publication, The Bridge, and her LinkedIn thought leadership series, HERspectives, where she writes about the structural challenges established business owners face when scaling their companies. Her upcoming BridgeWRX Leadership Library will compile books and instructional tools drawn from her more than two decades of entrepreneurial experience.

"I’ve come to realize that the assignment was always bigger than the building," Orr said, according to the Chicago Crusader. "BridgeWRX allows me to extend the mission of The FoundHERS Suite in new ways while continuing to prepare for its next chapter. My passion has always been helping women discover what’s possible, build with intention, and create something that lasts."
