Kyrie Irving Offers to Pay Azeez Al-Shaair's NFL Fine Over Hind Rajab Tribute
NBA star Kyrie Irving pledged to cover a fine issued to Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair for wearing the name of a Palestinian girl killed in Gaza on his eye black. Al-Shaair has been fined previously for similar messages.
Kyrie Irving offered to pay a fine levied against Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair after the NFL penalized him $11,941 for wearing the name of Hind Rajab on his eye black during a game against the Buffalo Bills, according to Al Jazeera.
Al-Shaair, 29, is a Black American Muslim player who has repeatedly spoken out about the plight of Palestinians. Shortly after an NFL reporter posted the fine on X, Irving responded that he would "take care" of it.
This marked the second time Al-Shaair has been fined for a message related to Gaza.
