Kelsey Mitchell Breaks A'ja Wilson's WNBA Single-Season Scoring Record
Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell scored 33 points in a win over the Toronto Tempo to surpass A'ja Wilson's single-season scoring record of 1,021 points. Mitchell also extended her WNBA-record streak of 20-point games to 25.
Kelsey Mitchell's historic season reached a new milestone Friday when she scored 33 points in the Indiana Fever's 103-85 win over the Toronto Tempo, pushing her season total to 1,034 points and surpassing A'ja Wilson's previous record of 1,021 set in 2024, according to the Associated Press.
Mitchell shot 12-for-17 from the field and 7-for-11 from three-point range, extending her own WNBA record of consecutive 20-point games to 25. "I think you just told me, to be honest," Mitchell said when asked when she learned she'd broken the record.
Caitlin Clark added 28 points and matched a season high with 14 assists. Mitchell and Wilson remain the only two players in WNBA history to record a 1,000-point season.
