Kelly Rowland is making it clear that decisions regarding Jay-Z's upcoming Super Bowl halftime show remain entirely in the rapper's hands. When asked whether Destiny's Child might reunite on stage during the major sporting event, Rowland opted to step back from fueling any speculation, according to reporting by AllHipHop.

The question arose on October 28 while Rowland attended the Airbnb.org Gala in Hollywood. With Jay-Z set to take center stage at SoFi Stadium for the NFL championship spectacle, questions about potential guest performers have already started circulating. Rowland, however, shut down rumors about her involvement or any group plans, telling PEOPLE, “That’s none of my business. That’s his performance. That’s none of my business.”

As noted by AllHipHop, Rowland's direct comments offered no announcement of surprise appearances, and neither Beyoncé nor Michelle Williams was identified as part of any halftime showcase. The forthcoming performance marks a major milestone for Jay-Z, who will headline the Super Bowl halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

Jay-Z's transition to the stadium spotlight follows an extensive tenure steering the league's musical entertainment from behind the scenes. Roc Nation entered into an official entertainment partnership with the NFL in 2019, through which Jay-Z helped curate multiple high-profile halftime sets headlined by other artists before securing his own booking, AllHipHop reported.

The Inglewood venue is already familiar territory for the Brooklyn icon. Jay-Z headlined back-to-back concerts at SoFi Stadium on October 23 and October 24, celebrating three decades since his debut album Reasonable Doubt and twenty-five years since The Blueprint. Those milestone concerts brought together a wide roster of collaborators, featuring appearances from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, John Legend, and DJ Khaled across both nights, according to AllHipHop.

While a Super Bowl appearance remains unconfirmed, Destiny's Child recently gave fans a live reunion. Beyoncé welcomed Rowland and Williams to the stage during the final stop of her Cowboy Carter tour at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on July 26, 2025. The trio performed classic hits “Lose My Breath” and “Bootylicious” during a finale that also included guest spots by Jay-Z and Shaboozey.

The Las Vegas appearance stood as the group's first public performance together in seven years, following their acclaimed set during Beyoncé's 2018 Coachella performance. Williams later reflected on the impromptu nature of the Las Vegas reunion on Watch What Happens Live, explaining, “This one was, ‘Y’all let’s do this,’ and we did.”

Beyond stage collaborations, the group members maintain a tight personal connection. Rowland shared on All Access with Linsey Davis that the three recently gathered for a meal to celebrate Williams' Grammy nomination for Death Becomes Her, noting, “We just shared a meal, but we laughed until we were crying.” For now, however, any potential halftime reunion remains strictly Jay-Z's call.
