Johnson C. Smith football enters Saturday's Eddie McGirt Classic against Fayetteville State riding a two-game winning streak, but head coach Maurice Flowers says the defending CIAA champions are still discovering their identity, according to HBCU Gameday.
"We're still developing our identity," Flowers said. "But the thing that we do know is we don't have to look very far to find our identity." The winner reaches the bye week unbeaten in conference play.
JCSU lost more than 30 seniors from last year's title roster and brought in roughly 60 new players, including nearly 40 freshmen.
