Late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel focused his Tuesday broadcast monologue on President Donald Trump following significant congressional election developments, according to reporting by Billboard. Kimmel addressed the political landscape after Democrats secured both the House and the Senate, using his comedy routine to poke fun at the administration.

During the monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the host highlighted Trump's past public comments regarding hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj, according to Billboard. Kimmel quipped to his studio audience, "After all the talk about Nicki Minaj’s a–, Jon Husted’s a–. The only a– on Trump’s mind tonight is the one that just got handed to him by America."

Kimmel also included Vice President J.D. Vance in the broadcast commentary, taking aim at the shift in congressional representation. Kimmel joked, "The Democrats took so many seats, J.D. Vance can’t even find one to have sex with him tonight," as documented by Billboard.

The routine's reference to Nicki Minaj traced back to remarks Trump made while speaking at an October 25 rally in Michigan, Billboard reported. While addressing the crowd at that campaign stop, Trump pointed out the Queens-born rap star, saying, "By the way, I looked at one hell of a beautiful a– before… Nicki Minaj. That’s hard to miss," before prompting her to stand up.

Billboard reported that Minaj had flown on Air Force One to the Michigan gathering after an administration staffer floated her name as a potential candidate for White House press secretary. While present at the event, Minaj addressed the crowd directly to express her allegiance to Trump, according to the outlet's reporting.

"President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time," Minaj told attendees at the Michigan rally, as reported by Billboard. She continued her public remarks, stating, "And I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again. I am so honored to be working with this president. He represents resilience. Since he’s come back, he’s changed the energy of our country. And he’s given us a future to look forward to, a brighter future for us and our children."

In separate commentary cited by Billboard, Trump was asked directly about the prospect of selecting Minaj as his next White House press secretary during a conversation with host Benny Johnson. Trump responded to the inquiry by suggesting it remained an open question, telling Johnson, "That’s a good idea. I think I’ll have to think about that… I’m gonna think about that."
