Florida Mother Arrested After Allegedly Leaving Four Children Home Alone for Three-Day Bahamas Cruise
A 29-year-old Florida mother faces four counts of child neglect after authorities say she left her four young children unsupervised to go on a three-day Bahamas cruise. First responders discovered the children hiding inside a bathroom after receiving a 911 call from the father of the youngest child.

Authorities in South Florida have charged a 29-year-old mother with four counts of child neglect without great bodily harm after law enforcement officials stated she left four young children unattended to attend a three-day cruise trip, according to reporting by The Shade Room. Police records indicate that Nathalie Belizaire departed on September 25 for a Carnival cruise heading to the Bahamas, leaving behind her four children, which included a two-month-old infant daughter.
The situation came to light on Saturday evening when the father of the infant arrived at Belizaire's North Miami Beach residence. According to police documents, the father noticed lights and the television operating inside the unit. After hearing children's voices from inside and receiving no answer at the door, he contacted emergency dispatch services. Officers from the North Miami Beach Police Department alongside personnel from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the scene and made forced entry into the apartment.
Upon entering, emergency responders located all four children hiding inside a bathroom without any adult supervision present. Investigative reports detail that Belizaire had previously informed the infant's father that the children would remain in the care of their great-grandmother while she traveled. However, investigators confirmed with the great-grandmother that the arrangement was never completed, despite Belizaire telling her earlier that she intended to drop the children off. Additionally, authorities noted that Belizaire's brother received a text message from her around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday asking him to check on the children.
Law enforcement officials attempted to reach Belizaire by telephone multiple times without success during the investigation. Upon her return on Monday at PortMiami, law enforcement officers placed Belizaire into custody. Following her arrest, a judge set her bond at $10,000 and issued a strict order barring her from contacting the children, who have since been placed into foster care. Belizaire's legal defense team has publicly denied all allegations raised against her.
The case generated widespread attention online after being reported by The Shade Room, where social media users expressed shock and debated the circumstances surrounding the incident.
