Former hip-hop executive Sean "Diddy" Combs is once again in solitary confinement at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix, New Jersey, according to reporting by AllHipHop. The recent transfer into the Special Housing Unit follows a media investigation raising questions about his living conditions behind bars. According to an NBC News report cited by AllHipHop, four former inmates who spent time in Combs' unit claimed the former Bad Boy executive had access to unauthorized items including a contraband cellphone, alcohol, and a jailbroken tablet.

The former inmates also alleged that other incarcerated individuals prepared food, cleaned, laundered clothes, and performed massages for him inside the facility. A spokesperson for Combs pushed back against the overall portrayal detailed in the report, maintaining that Combs is serving his sentence while waiting for a decision on his conviction appeal. Sources cited in the reporting clarified that his placement in the Special Housing Unit is connected to the facility's internal investigation into the reported claims, rather than confirmation that every allegation against him has been established as fact.

This recent move marks another instance where Combs has been sent to solitary confinement during his sentence. In July, TMZ reported that Combs was involved in a physical altercation with another inmate at Fort Dix involving pushing and punches before prison staff intervened. Following that incident, Combs was subsequently placed in solitary confinement, while the Bureau of Prisons declined to comment on specific disciplinary matters. Bureau of Prisons records show that Combs' projected release date is currently listed as January 21, 2028.

That date has adjusted multiple times from previous dates, including February 20, February 5, and an earlier projected date in June 2028 reported by TMZ. Release date projections in federal facilities can shift due to standard administrative calculations, credits, and programming considerations, rather than direct discretionary rewards. Combs' representative has raised concerns over the persistent leaks surrounding his daily routine, questioning how detailed accounts of his incarceration continue to reach the public.

The Bureau of Prisons has maintained a policy of declining specific comments on Combs, citing safety, security, and privacy considerations. Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence resulting from his 2025 federal conviction on two counts
