Diana Ross Books Rare Australia Appearance With Exclusive Sydney Headlining Date
Legendary vocalist Diana Ross is heading to Australia for a special one-night performance scheduled for March 5. The exclusive concert marks her first time playing in the country since November 2006.

Legendary entertainer Diana Ross is scheduled to return to Australia for an exclusive, one-night-only performance next year, according to reporting by Billboard. The celebrated vocalist will headline the Sydney Summertime concert series on Friday, March 5, bringing her live showcase to Centennial Park for what promoters confirm will be her sole concert date in the country.
The upcoming performance marks the first time Ross has staged a concert in Australia in more than twenty years, Billboard reported. Her previous live performances in the region took place in November 2006, when she performed at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney as well as Melbourne stops at the Regent Theatre and Flemington Racecourse.
According to an official announcement from event promoter Black Peach Touring, Ross will present a showcase titled Diana Ross Freedom in Motion. The concert is scheduled on the eve of the annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade. Black Peach Touring co-founders and directors Jessica Ducrou and Elise Huntley described the booking as an unforgettable centerpiece for the concert series, calling the Motown legend an absolute icon.
Ross stands as the third international headliner revealed for the inaugural season of the Sydney Summertime series, joining previously announced acts The Strokes and Kings of Leon. Billboard noted that British electronic duo Groove Armada is set to accompany the bill with a DJ set, while promoters intend to announce additional supporting talent at a later time.
The all-ages live event is receiving institutional backing from Destination NSW, the lead agency coordinating the visitor economy under the New South Wales government. State minister for jobs and tourism Steve Kamper highlighted Ross's expansive recording catalog and cultural reach spanning decades, noting in a statement that securing an international star of her stature represents an economic boost and a major win for local tourism.
Ross rose to global prominence as the founding lead singer of The Supremes before establishing an internationally celebrated solo career that yielded historic pop, soul, and disco classics. Organizers announced that ticket presales for the Sydney Summertime concert will open on Monday, November 9, with general event details hosted directly through the tour promoter's platform.
