Colin Kaepernick Opens Up on 5 A.M. Workouts and New Memoir
Colin Kaepernick told Men's Health he remains in game-ready shape nearly a decade removed from the NFL, still training five days a week. The quarterback discussed his new memoir, "The Perilous Fight."

Colin Kaepernick told Men's Health's Strong Talk podcast that he still trains as if he could return to the NFL at any moment. "We'll hit the ground running," he said. "We do all of our training to make sure that we are prepared for that."
Kaepernick said his 4:30 a.m. wakeups and disciplined regimen — plyometrics, sprints and heavy lifting — trace back to his youth football coach. "What I learned through that process is the ability to push the bounds of what you're capable of," he said.
The interview coincided with the release of his memoir, "The Perilous Fight," which covers his early life, football career and the anthem protest.
