Longtime Las Vegas headliner Carrot Top has issued his first public remarks following an emergency hospitalization last month, confirming that he plans to resume his performance schedule at the Luxor on Oct. 19. According to reporting by Complex, the performer shared a message expressing gratitude for the public support he received during his medical crisis and recovery.

The entertainer, whose legal name is Scott Thompson, addressed his audience on Oct. 17 through an Instagram post featuring a photo from the stage. Thompson wrote that he felt deeply touched by the outreach from supporters who contacted him over the preceding weeks. In his public statement, Thompson stated, "I'm truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, and well wishes I've received over the past couple of weeks. Every message, text, and kind thought has meant more to me than you know."

Thompson's hiatus began on Sept. 18 when authorities were dispatched to his Las Vegas residence. According to reporting by Complex, emergency responders discovered the comedian unconscious but breathing beside his swimming pool following what authorities described as a suicide attempt. The medical emergency prompted the immediate cancellation of his scheduled Luxor performance that evening.

Following his admission to a Las Vegas hospital, a representative for Thompson disclosed that the entertainer remained under intensive medical evaluation while breathing without mechanical assistance. The representative confirmed that Thompson was showing steady improvement while accompanied by relatives. Thompson remained under hospital supervision for more than a week until his discharge on Sept. 26.

In the period following his medical release, Thompson stepped away from public appearances and his entertainment schedule. He was observed attending church services in Las Vegas alongside his mother on Oct. 4 and Oct. 11, though he declined to issue public statements during those visits, according to Complex.

Alongside Thompson's medical emergency, legal tensions surfaced in federal court between the performer and a former opening act, Brian Evans. Attorneys representing Thompson alleged in court filings that Evans demanded a $500,000 financial settlement while threatening to submit an explicit recording into a public court docket. In an emergency filing, Thompson's legal counsel Ronnie Bitman argued that the pressure surrounding the alleged disclosure contributed directly to Thompson's declining mental health.

Evans, who is handling his own legal defense, firmly rejected the allegations of extortion. In comments reported by Complex, Evans stated that he never threatened to publish any footage in exchange for a payout. Evans maintained that the recording referenced in court documents had been permanently erased previously under the terms of an earlier legal agreement.

Thompson has maintained his headlining residency at the Luxor since 2005, making him one of the Strip's longest-running comedy performers. With his medical recovery underway, Thompson confirmed he will step back onto the stage for his standard 8 p.m. performance on Oct. 19.
