Cardi B made noticeable alterations to her track "ErrTime" during an October appearance on the NPR Tiny Desk Concert series, opting to omit collaborator Latto's name from the lyrics twice, according to reporting by Baller Alert. The substitutions arrive as questions persist regarding tension between the two hip-hop artists, who have not publicly confirmed any reconciliation.

During the intimate set, Cardi adjusted the original lyrics that previously gave a shoutout to Latto. According to Baller Alert, she first delivered the line as, "Bad brown [expletive]. She look like Kelly in this [expletive]." When the verse circled back around a second time, the Bronx artist pivoted again, replacing Latto's name with a nod to her younger sister, Hennessy Carolina. Cardi has not released a public explanation regarding the lyric adjustments, leaving observers to consider the broader history between the musicians.

The creative relationship between the performers previously produced major collaborative releases. Latto appeared on a September 2025 remix of "ErrTime," featured on Cardi's sophomore studio album, "AM I THE DRAMA?" That joint effort followed their 2023 collaboration, "Put It On Da Floor Again," which initially established their professional alliance.

Strain between the artists originated in September 2025 when an audio recording surfaced online capturing a heated telephone exchange between Cardi and the manager of Ice Spice, Baller Alert reported. During the conversation, Cardi made disparaging statements regarding Latto while discussing tensions involving Ice Spice, labeling Latto as weak. The remarks prompted immediate fallout across the music landscape.

On September 30, 2025, Cardi posted a public apology on X, conceding that she was upset during the taped phone call. In the statement, Cardi expressed respect for Latto and her team, pledging to offer a private apology and purchase a luxury designer handbag for her former collaborator.

The rift resurfaced when Latto released her May 2026 album, "Big Mama." On the track "Gimme Dat," Latto referenced the situation by questioning the handbag offer and dismissing material gifts as an adequate resolution. Latto subsequently addressed the record on June 4 during an interview on The Breakfast Club, confirming the lines were aimed at Cardi.

Latto explained to The Breakfast Club that she had rapidly turned around her remix verse for "ErrTime" specifically to help support first-week sales for Cardi's album, only to hear the leaked audio shortly afterward. Latto stated that she was pregnant at the time and felt disappointed because she regarded Cardi as a personal friend deserving of direct dialogue rather than solely an internet apology. While Cardi eventually sent a private communication roughly two months later, Latto indicated she had already moved past the matter emotionally, though she maintained she remained open to having a conversation.

In response to the public discourse, Cardi acknowledged that her remarks on the tape were disrespectful, according to Baller Alert. Cardi stated that she had attempted to reach Latto through direct messages, management, and her sister throughout 2025 and 2026. Cardi noted that she was eight months pregnant, stressed, and emotional when the audio leaked, though she stated those factors did not excuse her conduct, adding, "I always had love and respect for you!"

The Tiny Desk omission follows a similar occurrence at the July 2026 Essence Festival of Culture, where both artists performed on the same evening. During that set, Cardi omitted Latto's name on "ErrTime" by replacing the lyrics with references to herself as Bardi and her sister Henny. As Baller Alert documented, the repeated alterations show that despite earlier statements expressing willingness to talk, the two rappers have yet to officially mend their ties.
