During the height of 2000s hip-hop culture, South Carolina native Buffie the Body emerged as one of the most recognizable figures in music videos and magazine covers. Celebrated for her natural curves, vibrant fashion, and striking presence, she became a standout icon long before the rise of modern cosmetic surgery trends. According to reporting by HelloBeautiful, Buffie achieved widespread fame while maintaining a natural look without surgical enhancements, hosting national events and gracing publication covers across the country.

Despite her major cultural footprint during that era, Buffie stepped away from the entertainment industry more than 15 years ago. On Oct. 9, daytime television host Tamron Hall welcomed Buffie onto her namesake show to discuss her life today. As reported by HelloBeautiful, the television appearance materialized after Buffie posted a viral clip participating in a Netflix documentary-inspired social media trend. The video, which accumulated over one million views, humorously contrasted her former image as a video vixen with her current daily routine of yard work and home maintenance.

On social media, Buffie explained that while media outlets have reached out to her repeatedly over the years, she remained selective about interviews. She stated that unless conversations centered on her activewear company, Brick Built, her home projects, or her present-day lifestyle, she declined to participate. She noted that the invitation from The Tamron Hall Show marked the first time an interview focused entirely on the woman she is today rather than solely revisiting her past media persona, according to HelloBeautiful.

During the broadcast, Buffie shared that her entry into modeling was unexpected. Her career began after a Baltimore photo session intended as a personal gift for her boyfriend was shared online across message boards and digital groups. The resulting attention opened doors to music video bookings, magazine spreads, and hosting engagements. HelloBeautiful reported that Buffie viewed the work strategically as a practical means to earn a living, purchase a home, and secure financial stability.

She also revealed that she was in her early 40s while working alongside industry peers in their 20s. When financial returns slowed, Buffie made a deliberate decision to exit the entertainment business, repeatedly declining reality television offers that required her to play into legacy expectations. Today, she trades high heels and designer dresses for landscaping tools, yard maintenance, and timber work. Beyond running her apparel brand Brick Built, Buffie shares videos of her gardening, mulching, and outdoor projects with her online audience.

While followers frequently express interest in hiring her for private landscaping services, Buffie emphasized to Hall that she values maintaining her hobbies as personal spaces of peace without feeling pressure to monetize every passion.
