Kelly Clarkson Compares 13-Year-Old Brianna Cameron to Whitney Houston on 'The Voice'
Thirteen-year-old vocalist Brianna Cameron stunned the coaching panel on The Voice with a powerful rendition of Natalie Cole's classic 'Inseparable.' The standout performance prompted coach Kelly Clarkson to compare the young artist to a young Whitney Houston before advancing her to the live shows. Cameron earned a coveted spot in Team Kelly's top three amid the show's rigorous new Cut Week round.

Thirteen-year-old vocalist Brianna Cameron delivered one of the most talked-about performances of the season on Monday night's episode of The Voice, bringing coach Kelly Clarkson to tears and drawing comparisons to one of music history's greatest vocalists. Cameron, competing as a member of Team Kelly, took the stage during the show's newly introduced Cut Week round to perform Natalie Cole's 1975 classic 'Inseparable,' according to reporting by Billboard. The commanding performance immediately captivated the room and solidified Cameron's status as a top contender heading into the live rounds.
Clarkson was visibly moved throughout the performance and could not contain her amazement once the song concluded. 'It’s like we’re watching young Whitney Houston,' Clarkson said after Cameron finished singing, adding, 'You are insane!' Clarkson continued to marvel at the eighth-grader's technical control, later returning to the comparison. 'I haven’t heard runs like that since Whitney. You’re 13 years old. I just have a really hard time accepting you as a human.
You’re like an alien.' The praise was not limited to Clarkson alone. Fellow coach Queen Latifah was equally astonished by Cameron's stage maturity and emotional delivery. 'This is almost unfathomable,' Queen Latifah told her, 'that you can sing like this with this poise at this age.' Another coach on the panel echoed the sentiment directly, telling Cameron, 'Brianna, you’re by far the most naturally talented person I’ve seen on the show,' as reported by Billboard.
The high-stakes performance took place during Cut Week, an intense new format twist designed to slash each coach's roster from seven singers down to just three before the live broadcasts begin. Host Carson Daly set the tone at the start of the night, warning contestants and viewers about the scale of the impending cuts. 'After tonight, more than half of our artists are gonna see their journeys come to an end,' Daly announced. 'We’ve never faced an elimination this big before.' Despite the intense pressure, Clarkson selected Cameron to move forward to the live rounds.
She rounded out Team Kelly by advancing Koumba Diallo and Anna McElroy, while sending home Kyle Davis, Brooklyn Marie, Marcus Ladden Jr., and Nina Howland. Across the rest of the stage, Queen Latifah advanced Mia Knight, BigCountry, and Lillie Kolich, who performed The Cure's 'Friday I’m in Love.' Adam Levine advanced Lexi Stephens, Connor Closs, and Dakota Cohen, whom he called 'Baby Miley' after her rendition of Fuel's 'Hemorrhage (In My Hands).' Coach Green moved Cade Mower, the duo Ferryn & Brinkley, and Joe Henley through following Henley's performance of Keith Whitley's 'Don’t Close Your Eyes.' With Cut Week concluding, one eliminated artist will still have an opportunity to return through an upcoming viewer vote before the live rounds begin next week ahead of the Dec. 14 finale.
