Benedict College Scholars Chosen for Inaugural National Black Empowerment Council HBCU Fellowship
Three Benedict College students were selected for the inaugural HBCU Fellowship Cohort of the National Black Empowerment Council, making Benedict the only South Carolina HBCU represented. The fellowship offers professional networking, leadership development and cross-sector engagement.
Benedict College announced that Jacob Holmes, TyDarrius White and Nala Uter were chosen for the national cohort. Holmes, a junior finance major, said the experience helped him meet people from different backgrounds and build leadership skills.
The fellowship is designed to prepare the next generation of Black professionals for expanded influence in economic and social advancement. Benedict officials said the recognition underscores the college's academic and leadership strength.
