Angel Reese returned to Atlanta rested and dominant Thursday night, scoring 30 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in just 25 minutes as the Atlanta Dream routed the Connecticut Sun 103-59 at Gateway Center Arena, according to CBS News Atlanta.
Reese became the first player in WNBA history to record at least 30 points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes or fewer, shooting 11-of-14 from the field. "Right now, it's important to make sure we're setting the tone and leaving a taste in everybody's mouth about what the playoffs are going to look like," Reese said.
Teammate Rhyne Howard broke the WNBA's 3-point record during the rout, and coach Karl Smesko credited a strong halftime talk for a third quarter in which Atlanta outscored Connecticut 31-11.
