Rapper and media executive 50 Cent has publicly shut down any potential for peace with incarcerated music mogul Sean Diddy Combs. During a sit-down interview on NBC's TODAY on Friday, October 9, host duo Jenna and Sheinelle questioned the G-Unit founder about whether he could ever reconcile with Combs. 50 Cent responded directly, stating, 'No, not with him.' When the show's hosts observed that 50 Cent has successfully repaired fractured relationships with other music figures in the past, he explained that those situations were fundamentally different.

He pointed to his restored relationship with former Bad Boy artist Shyne as a clear counterexample. Referring to his current status with Shyne, 50 Cent shared that 'It's cool' and remarked, 'I have friends that like I can come visit your country.' The ongoing friction between 50 Cent and Combs spans more than twenty years, according to reporting by Complex. 50 Cent has previously stated that he ghostwrote Combs' verse for the 2001 G.

Dep track 'Let's Get It,' before taking his first public recorded shot at Combs on the 2002 track 'U Not Like Me.' Although the two artists temporarily paused their dispute to collaborate on the 2007 'I Get Money' remix, their professional rift resurfaced shortly afterward. The public commentary escalated following the 2023 settlement of a civil lawsuit brought by singer Cassie against Combs. In December 2023, 50 Cent announced plans to produce a documentary focused on Combs, which was later acquired by Netflix in 2024 following a competitive bidding war.

During his TODAY appearance, 50 Cent also addressed an NBC News report alleging that Combs watched 'Sean Combs: The Reckoning' on a jailbroken contraband tablet while behind bars. 50 Cent served as an executive producer on the Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries. Commenting on the report, 50 Cent stated, 'I didn't expect him to have a jailbroken tablet that wasn't was contraband in the actual facility, but he got a chance to see it and you know look it it's great.' He added that he believed it was 'the best documentary that went out on them' and maintained that the final production was fair.

In contrast, representatives for Combs previously labeled the docuseries a 'shameful hit piece.' Combs was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, while being cleared of federal charges alleging racketeering and sex trafficking. He is currently serving a 50-month sentence at a low-security federal correctional facility located in New Jersey. Federal scheduling records indicate Combs is scheduled for release in January 2028. Meanwhile, 50 Cent visited TODAY while promoting his upcoming feature film 'Street Fighter,' which is set to open in theaters on October 16.
